Cookie Policy
What is stored in your browser, by whom, and how to remove it.
This page covers cookies and other browser storage used on basketballarcade.xyz.

Cookies we set ourselves
None. The site itself sets no cookies.
What it does use is local storage, which is a different browser mechanism. Local storage is not sent to any server with requests; it simply keeps values in your browser for the site to read back. We use it for six things:
| Key | Purpose | Cleared by |
|---|---|---|
ba:best:<game> | Your best score in a game | Clearing site data |
ba:last:<game> | Your most recent score | Clearing site data |
ba:favorites | Games you have saved | Clearing site data, or unsaving them |
ba:recent | Recently played games | Clearing site data |
ba:theme | Light or dark preference | Clearing site data |
ba:muted | Sound on or off | Clearing site data |
None of these identifies you. All of them stay on your device. Clearing site data for this site removes them, which will also remove your saved scores.
Cookies third parties may set
Advertising
Where advertising is active on this site, the ad provider may set cookies or similar identifiers. These are typically used to:
- limit how many times you see the same advertisement
- measure whether an advertisement was seen
- personalise advertising, depending on your settings and where you are
These cookies are set by the advertising provider, not by us. We do not read them and cannot associate them with anything on this site.
If Google AdSense is the active provider, Google's use of cookies is covered by Google's privacy and terms. Third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites.
To control it:
- Google Ads Settings — opt out of personalised Google advertising
- aboutads.info/choices — US industry opt-out
- youronlinechoices.eu — EU industry opt-out
- Your browser's own cookie settings — block third-party cookies entirely
Analytics
If an analytics provider is active, it may set cookies to distinguish one visit from another. It is used to see which pages are read and where errors occur, in aggregate.
When analytics is enabled on this site, the provider will be named here with a link to its policy.
How to control cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking third-party cookies does not stop the games working. Blocking all site data, or using private browsing, means your best scores will not be saved between visits — that is local storage being cleared, not an advertising cookie.
If you block everything
The site still works. Specifically:
- Every game plays normally
- Every page reads normally
- Your best scores will not persist after you close the tab
- Your theme and sound preferences reset each visit
- Favourites and recently-played strips stay empty
Nothing is gated behind accepting anything.
Regional notices
Where the law requires consent before non-essential cookies are set — for example under the EU ePrivacy rules and GDPR — that consent must be obtained before advertising or analytics cookies are placed. A site operator deploying this site in such a region is responsible for implementing a compliant consent mechanism and connecting it to the advertising and analytics code.
