Privacy Policy
What is collected, what is not, and what you can do about it.
This policy explains what happens to information when you use basketballarcade.xyz. It is written to be read rather than to be technically unassailable, and it describes our actual practice.
Last reviewed: September 2026
The short version
- We do not ask for or store your name, email address or any account details, because there are no
accounts.
- Your game scores are saved in your own browser, on your own device. They are never uploaded.
- This site is designed to carry advertising. Where advertising is active, a third-party provider
may set cookies and collect data according to its own policy.
- Analytics may be used to understand which pages are read. It is disclosed here and in the
- We do not sell data. We have no data to sell.
What we do not collect
No accounts, no registration, no email capture, no newsletter, no profile. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is nothing to collect.
The games do not transmit anything. When you play, everything happens in your browser: the physics, the scoring, the best-score record. No score, no run, no input ever leaves your device.
Local storage
The site stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage — a standard browser feature. Specifically:
| What | Why | Example key |
|---|---|---|
| Best score per game | So your record persists between visits | ba:best:dunk-challenge |
| Last score per game | Shown on the game-over screen | ba:last:dunk-challenge |
| Favourite games | Powers the favourites strip | ba:favorites |
| Recently played | Powers the recently-played strip | ba:recent |
| Colour theme | Remembers light or dark | ba:theme |
| Sound preference | Remembers mute | ba:muted |
This data:
- Stays on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Is not an identifier. It contains no name, no email, no ID.
- Is per device and per browser. A score on your phone is not visible on your laptop.
- Can be deleted by you at any time, by clearing site data for this site in your browser
settings. Doing so removes your saved scores.
Server logs
Like nearly every website, the server that delivers these pages keeps standard request logs. These typically record the IP address making the request, the time, the page requested, and the browser's user-agent string. They are produced by the hosting infrastructure and are used for security and diagnosing faults.
Analytics
We may use a web analytics provider to understand which pages people read and where things break.
If analytics is active on this site, it is disclosed in the cookie policy, which names the provider and links to its policy. Analytics is used in aggregate — to see that a page is read, not to build a profile of any reader.
The site is built so that analytics can be added or removed in one place. No analytics code is loaded by default in the published source.
Advertising
Basketball Arcade is free and is designed to carry advertising. Where advertising is active, the ad provider — Google AdSense or a comparable network — serves the advertisements and may:
- set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser
- use those to limit how often you see the same advertisement
- use them to personalise advertising, depending on your settings and location
That data is collected by the advertising provider, not by us. We do not receive it and cannot link it to anything on this site. The provider's own privacy policy governs it, and the cookie policy links to it.
Under Google's own terms, third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits. You can opt out of personalised Google advertising at Google Ads Settings, and more broadly at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
Contact form
The contact page includes a form. It is not connected to anything. This is a static website with no backend, so the form cannot send a message, and it says so on the page rather than pretending to work.
Nothing you type into it is transmitted or stored anywhere. To reach us, use the email addresses on that page.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. There are no accounts and no data collection to be concerned about on our side. Parents and guardians who want detail on what the site does and does not do will find it in basketball arcade games for kids and families.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data held about you — access, correction, deletion, objection, and the right to complain to a regulator.
In our case the practical answer is unusual: we hold no personal data about you. There are no accounts and no user records. The data that exists is either in your own browser, where you control it directly, or held by third parties (the ad provider, the analytics provider, the host) under their own policies — and we have linked each of them so you can exercise rights with the party that actually holds the data.
If you want to know more about what we hold, ask: privacy@basketballarcade.xyz.
Third parties
| Who | What they do | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting provider | Serves the pages, keeps request logs | Varies by host |
| Advertising provider | Serves ads, may set cookies | Linked in the cookie policy |
| Analytics provider | Aggregate page statistics, if enabled | Linked in the cookie policy |
No other third-party code runs on this site. There are no social media widgets, no embedded videos, no comment systems and no tracking pixels beyond what is described above.
Security
We do not hold personal data, which removes most of the risk. The site is served over HTTPS. The games run entirely in your browser's sandbox and cannot access anything outside the page.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the "last reviewed" date above will change and the change will be described in this section.
